MySawm is a Muslim worship and fasting tracker application operated by Lightboard.ai Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales.

This Privacy Policy explains how MySawm collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use our application. Please read this policy carefully. If you do not agree with our practices please do not use the App.

We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018, and other applicable data protection laws. Lightboard.ai Ltd is the data controller responsible for your personal data.

We collect the following types of information when you use MySawm:

Authentication Data: Your email address and account credentials used to create and maintain your account.

Fasting and Religious Logs: Dates, fasting status, notes, points and Islamic calendar information you manually enter into the App.

Prayer Information: Prayer times based on your location, prayer completion logs and prayer streaks you record.

Spiritual Tracking: Tasbih and dhikr counters, daily goals and associated points you log.

Financial Data: Zakaat payment records, amounts, dates, currencies and net wealth calculations you enter for personal zakaat calculation purposes only.

Learning and Scripture Data: Quran chapters accessed, Islamic names viewed, Dua references accessed and quiz attempts with scores.

Ranking Data: Your spiritual progress data including prayer completion and fasting status used to generate your position on the MySawm Ranking leaderboard.

Location Data: Precise GPS coordinates used to calculate accurate prayer times, find nearby halal restaurants and provide Qibla direction. Location is only accessed when you use these features.

Device Information: Device type, operating system version and app version used for technical support and crash reporting.

Preferences: Notification preferences, haptic feedback settings and app display preferences.

Subscription and Billing Data: On Android and web, if you purchase a MySawm Premium subscription your payment is processed by Stripe Inc. We receive confirmation of your subscription status. We do not store your card details. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/privacy.

On iOS, if you purchase MySawm Premium, your payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify and manage your subscription entitlement across your devices. RevenueCat receives a unique account identifier and your subscription status but does not receive your payment or card details. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

We use the information we collect to:

Provide and maintain the App and its features including prayer times, fasting tracking, zakaat calculation and halal restaurant finding. Calculate accurate prayer times and Qibla direction based on your location. Display your progress on the MySawm Ranking leaderboard. Send prayer time notifications if you have enabled them. Process and manage your Premium subscription through Stripe or Apple's In-App Purchase system, as applicable to your platform. Improve the App based on anonymous usage patterns. Detect and prevent fraudulent activity. Comply with our legal obligations.

Your data is used exclusively for the purposes described above. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

Under UK GDPR we process your personal data on the following legal bases:

Contract: Processing necessary to provide the services you have requested including account management and subscription billing.

Legitimate Interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate interests in improving the App, ensuring security and preventing fraud, where these interests are not overridden by your rights.

Consent: Where you have given explicit consent, for example enabling location access or notifications.

Legal Obligation: Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal requirement.

Religious data including your fasting logs and prayer records is treated as special category data under UK GDPR Article 9. We process this data only on the basis of your explicit consent given by your voluntary use of these features.

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by our infrastructure partners. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections.

We implement the following security measures: secure HTTPS connections for all data transmission, encrypted storage of sensitive data, regular security monitoring and updates, and secure authentication protocols.

Data Retention: We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. If you request account deletion we will delete your personal data within 30 days. Financial records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by UK law.

No system is completely secure. While we implement industry-standard protections we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

MySawm uses the following third-party services. Each has their own privacy policy governing their use of data:

Stripe Inc: Payment processing for MySawm Premium subscriptions on Android and web. Stripe receives your email address and payment details when you subscribe. Privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Apple Inc. (App Store): Payment processing for iOS Premium subscriptions and one-time purchases. Apple receives your Apple ID and payment details when you subscribe via the App Store. Privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy/.

RevenueCat, Inc.: Subscription and entitlement management for iOS Premium access. RevenueCat receives a unique, anonymised user identifier and your subscription status to verify Premium access across devices; it does not receive your payment details. Privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Aladhan API: Prayer time calculations. This service receives your GPS coordinates only when you request prayer times. Privacy policy at aladhan.com/privacy.

OpenStreetMap: Map and location data. No personal data is sent to OpenStreetMap.

Quranic API (Quran Foundation): Quran text, translations and audio recitations. No personal data is sent to this service. Quran Foundation API content including Quran text, translations and audio recitations is provided as a free feature to all MySawm users and is not part of the Premium subscription tier.

We do not share your personal information with any other third parties except where required by law.

Location data is collected solely to calculate accurate prayer times for your specific location, help you find nearby halal restaurants and provide Qibla direction.

You can enable or disable location access at any time through your device settings. The App only accesses your location when you actively use the prayer times, halal finder or Qibla features. We do not track your movement history. Location data is not used for advertising or sold to third parties.

Your fasting logs, prayer records, tasbih counts and religious observations are treated as special category personal data under UK GDPR and handled with the highest level of care.

Your chosen profile avatar and status message are displayed publicly on your profile to other users. The watchlist feature allows users to follow one another's progress within the App.

Points are earned from prayers, fasts, dhikr, Quran reading, story completions, quizzes and in-app games. This activity contributes to your public leaderboard position. Your spiritual progress including fasting status and prayer completion may appear on the MySawm Ranking leaderboard visible to other users. You can opt out of appearing on the leaderboard at any time through the Privacy settings in the App.

We will never use your religious data for behavioural profiling, targeted advertising or any purpose other than providing you with the App features you have chosen to use. Religious data is never shared with third parties, advertisers or data brokers.

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.

Right to Rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate personal data.

Right to Erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account directly from within the App by going to Settings and selecting Delete My Account. We will process your deletion request within 30 days. Alternatively email hello@mysawm.com to request deletion.

Right to Data Portability: You can request your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.

Right to Restrict Processing: You can request that we restrict processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.

Right to Object: You can object to processing of your personal data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.

Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent you can withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.

To exercise any of these rights contact us at hello@mysawm.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

MySawm is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13 we will delete it immediately. Users aged 13 to 17 should have parental or guardian consent before using the App.

MySawm offers a Premium subscription tier providing access to additional features including Global Rankings, Islamic Knowledge Game, Achievement Badges and Streak Multipliers.

On Android and web: Premium subscriptions are purchased directly within the App using Stripe secure payment processing.

On iOS: Premium is purchased directly within the App via Apple's In-App Purchase system through the App Store, including monthly and annual auto-renewing subscription options and a one-time lifetime purchase option. Payment is processed entirely by Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription or purchase status and grant Premium access. iOS subscriptions can be managed or cancelled at any time via your Apple ID subscription settings in the App Store; the lifetime purchase is a one-time payment with no recurring billing.

Subscription pricing, billing terms, cancellation rights and refund policy are set out in our Terms of Use.

MySawm is currently ad-free and has no active advertising partners. We do not display advertisements within the App at this time.

If advertising is introduced in the future this Privacy Policy will be updated and users will be notified in advance.

We will never sell your personal data to advertisers, data brokers or any third parties. Ever.

The App uses local storage on your device to store authentication tokens, settings, prayer times, fasting logs and progress data. MySawm does not currently use advertising cookies or third-party tracking technologies. If advertising is introduced in the future we will update this section accordingly and notify users in advance. You can clear all app data at any time through your device settings.

In the event of a personal data breach that is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms we will notify the Information Commissioner's Office within 72 hours as required by UK GDPR. Where the breach is likely to result in a high risk to your rights and freedoms we will also notify you directly without undue delay. To report a suspected security issue contact hello@mysawm.com.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by displaying a notice within the App. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
